Mission Statement

The mission of Get In The Picture LLC is to provide entertainment to Chicago-area thoroughbred racing fans by offering the opportunity to be a partner in a stable of horses running locally. Our focus is maximizing the fun and excitement of being an owner while minimizing the headaches.

To accomplish this, we have created a partnership with the following features: Charging partners a one-time fee with no follow-up bills: Running multiple horses at the highest level of competion where they also have the best chance of winning and not just earning a paycheck: and, Having a defined exit plan so the partners know when the partnership will end.

We believe our plan addresses the major issues that can sour people on being an owner while allowing our partners the ability to enjoy the wonderful experiences that owning thoroughbred racehorses has to offer.

This is the easiest way to get into racing as an owner!

 

Here's how it works

We are selling up to 50 ownership units to Illinois Racing Fans at a one time only fee of $5000.00 (five thousand dollars) per unit.

Goal budget - $250,000

We will claim or purchase multiple horses (at least 4) in the general price range of $5000 to $35,000.

The 2008 "Get In The Picture" partnership will run from January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008.

 

We will run the horses with the intent of winning races and getting you in the winners circle. At the end of the 2008 racing year any horses that are still owned by the 2008 LLC will be sold to the 2009 LLC and we then start over again in 2009.

 

The Budget at a glance

Approximately 10% will be allocated for administrative fees. Among the administration fees are licensing of the LLC, accounting fees, legal fees, marketing, mailing, web-page, liability insurance, a box at Arlington Park for all members to use.

Approximately 45% will be used to claim or purchase horses and,

Approximately 40% will be used for training costs, including; veterinarian, vanning, blacksmith, general horse care, etc.

No Cash Calls will be made. Your initial payment of $5000.00 per unit will be the only payment you make.

Purse money, claimed horse income and all unused training and administrative allotments will remain in the LLC account until the termination of the LLC (December 31, 2008). On the date of termination the managing partner (Mike Campbell Racing Stable, Inc.) will receive 10% of the balance after all bills have been paid as a management fee and the remainder will be distributed to the partners based upon their percentage ownership interest in the LLC.

A minimum of 25 units must be sold for each partnerhsip to go forward according to this racing plan.

 

Perks for the owners.

You will own a percentage of multiple horses, which means that you as an owner will have constant action and horses racing at Arlington Park and Hawthorne Race Course in Chicago and either The Fair Ground Race Course or Oaklawn Park during the winter months.

You will be eligible to be licensed as an owner (each owner must pay his/her own owner license fee with the state of Illinois) which allows you admission to the barn area, owner area parking and admission to the park for you and your spouse.

You can arrange with Mike to come to the barn to see and pet your horses, feed them peppermints and carrots.

Come to the morning workouts, Talk to the trainers and jockeys, Go to the paddock, Feel the rush of your horse racing,

And of course join us in the winner¹s circle.

Each "Get In The Picture Stable" partnership assumes the structure of a Limited Liability Corporation. LLCs offer the legal protection of a corporation combined with the ability and opportunity for members to take advantage of benefits associated with a partnership.

Each LLC is registered with the state of Illinois and the IRS. Every partner will receive a K-1 tax statement following the end of the calendar year.

This partnership is set up for entertainment only - this is not an investment. The structure of this partnership is very unique because each partner pays only $5000 for an ownership interst in a one year LLC that files a tax return and issues 1099's to the partners based on their prorate ownership interst. This parnteship is set up for entertainment and the excitement of owning thoroughbred race horses while Mike is taking the financial risk if the horses don't make any money or get hurt - there are no further bills to you. The initial cost of purchasing a racehorse combined with the frequencey of injury plus the high cost of training and racing horses along with monthly bills is what keeps the average race fan from owning horses. Our group is set up to make the experience of owning racehorses affordable and fun.
